SSE Development Experience

Build confidence first.Strengthen competency next.

A proposed structured development experience for Short Service Employees, combining qualified mentors, immersive learning, workplace coaching and evidence-based competency progression.

Development pathway

Two connected learning experiences

PULSE builds understanding. BOOST develops applied judgment. Progression is based on readiness, not an automatic time-based promotion.

AR-first foundation

PULSE

Learn the workplace, recognize hazards and establish safe working fundamentals.

  • Workplace and equipment familiarization
  • Hazard identification and risk awareness
  • Interactive AR-assisted learning
  • Mandatory learning and knowledge checks
  • Mentor-guided workplace observation
VR-first applied learning

BOOST

Practice decisions in controlled simulations and strengthen job-specific capability.

  • Scenario-based decision making
  • VR and desktop safety simulations
  • Critical risk and Stop Work Authority practice
  • Mentor coaching and competency evidence
  • Supervisor-reviewed development progress

Learning technology

Experience the work before facing the risk.

AR can support contextual familiarization. VR and desktop simulation can support safe decision-making practice. Neither replaces supervised OJT, mandatory training or formal competency verification.

AR Hazard Discovery

Recognize workplace hazards and learn control measures.

VR Scenario Lab

Practice responses to simulated high-risk situations.

Learning Evidence

Capture learning progress for mentor and supervisor review.

MentorMatch concept

Better mentoring starts with qualified mentors.

Proposed eligibility checks include relevant competency, required training, active SSE status, availability and coaching readiness. Formal appointment remains with authorized company personnel.

Qualification verification

Review mandatory training and applicable competency evidence.

One-to-one assignment

Support the required mentor-to-SSE arrangement.

Coaching and progress

Document mentoring and workplace development.

Designed to complement formal SSE governance

PULSE and BOOST are proposed internal development phases, not official PHR SSE classifications. Official SSE status, release, early release, evaluation and approvals must follow applicable company and PHR requirements. Simulation scores do not grant release.
